Survey on communication about the new pension

In January 2027, we will make the switch to the new pension. That's why you will regularly receive information about your pension in the coming period. We think it's important that you properly understand this information about your new pension. And that is why we conduct regular surveys into our communications. This way we can adjust our communications, if necessary.

We conducted an initial survey in early 2025. We investigated what our participants know about the new pension. About 20,000 participants took part. They were pensioners, people who are currently accruing a pension with us and people who have accrued a pension with us in the past. The image people have of the new pension is currently mixed.

  • Most participants do know that pensions are going to change. For example, that pensions will fluctuate with the economy. And that under the new pension scheme you will still receive your pension for as long as you live.

  • Most participants indicate that communication about the new pension is clear. However, there are also people who don't really know what to expect. There's a need for clarity about what information they can expect and when.

  • Part of the participants indicate to have confidence in the scheme. However some also indicate that they currently have insufficient insight into how their pension will develop in the future. And that creates uncertainty.

 

What do we do with the results?

The results of the survey give us a good idea of where we can improve. For example, better information about when you can expect something from us. So that's what we're going to work on. We will be repeating the knowledge survey several times in the coming years. This allows us to closely monitor what our participants know about the new pension, what their needs are and how we can adapt our communication accordingly.
