Each year, the board determines the PGB Basic Scheme contribution for the coming year. This contribution will remain unchanged in 2025 too, namely 28% of the pensionable earnings. Long-term stability and balance are important principles when determining the contribution. The employers affiliated with us are currently busy developing their plans for the transition to the new pension scheme. That’s an intensive process. Just as in the past three years, the board has chosen to create calm in the current pension system.
In recent weeks, the board and the accountability body discussed the former’s intention to keep the contribution the same for 2025. It was also re-assessed whether keeping the contribution the same fits within the policy. And whether it is in line with current economic developments, interest rates and statutory regulations. On the basis of this, the board - after a positive advice from the accountability body - made the decision.
The board has also already had an exploratory look at the contribution for 2026. If (economic) circumstances do not deviate evidently, it is expected that the contribution can remain the same for 2026. After the summer of 2025, the board will examine whether this expectation still fits the circumstances at that time. In October 2025, the board will make a decision about the contribution for 2026.
The board considers a pension increase to be an important means of preserving the purchasing power. Both for pension recipients and for participants who accrue or have a pension with us. Whether Pensioenfonds PGB can increase pensions in the coming year and if so, by how much, is not yet known. The board will decide on this at the end of November. What we do already know is that any increase will be small. We will of course inform you about this as soon as more information becomes available.
