When your employees are sick or occupationally disabled their pensions are affected. During the first 2 years of an employee’s sickness, he/she will still receive his/her salary. Although his/her salary could possibly go down and, if that is the case, your employee will accrue less pension with us.
This changes after two years
After 2 years, the UWV (the Employee Insurance Agency) will decide whether your employee is occupationally disabled. If your employee is at least 35% occupationally disabled, the following changes apply:
- Your employee will receive a benefit payment from the UWV. Whether or not
your employee receives an occupational disability pension from us depends on
your pension scheme.
- At our expense, your employee will accrue pension over the percentage that
he/she is occupationally disabled. For the percentage that your employee
continues working, he/she (and you) will pay for the accrual.
You must provide information to your employees
It’s important for you to provide information to your employees. You can do so by referring them to this page. We will also provide information to your employees. We will do that as soon as the UWV informs us that an employee is occupationally disabled.
